Amazon Web Services

Architecture, migration and operational support for Amazon Web Services environments.

AWS can support anything from a single hosted application to a multi-account platform spanning compute, storage, databases and private networks. The difficult part is usually not creating resources; it is choosing an architecture that remains secure, supportable and proportionate to the workload.

IP6net is a member of the AWS Partner Network. We help customers assess existing systems, design AWS environments, migrate workloads and establish the monitoring, backup and access controls needed for day-to-day operation.

AWS architecture and migration

Before deployment, we document the workload, its dependencies, recovery requirements and expected usage. This helps determine whether it belongs on virtual machines, managed services, serverless components or a combination of these.

Typical work includes:

  • Account and organisational structure, including separation of production and non-production workloads.
  • VPC address planning, public and private subnets, routing, security groups and controlled administrative access.
  • Site-to-site VPN or Direct Connect planning for hybrid environments.
  • Workload migration, DNS changes and cutover planning with a practical rollback route.
  • IAM roles and policies based on least-privilege access rather than shared administrative credentials.
  • Cost visibility through tagging, budgets and review of resource sizing and usage.

AWS services we work with

  • EC2 for Windows and Linux servers, application hosting and workloads that need operating-system access.
  • Lambda for event-driven functions, APIs, scheduled automation and data processing without managing servers.
  • Amplify Hosting for deploying and hosting full-stack web applications through a Git-based continuous-delivery workflow, including branch environments, preview builds, custom domains and AWS backend integrations.
  • S3 for object storage, backup data, logs and static website assets, with lifecycle and access policies where required.
  • RDS and Aurora for managed relational databases, automated backups and controlled maintenance windows.
  • Route 53 for public and private DNS, health checks and routing policies.
  • Elastic Load Balancing and Auto Scaling for resilient application front ends.
  • CloudWatch for metrics, logs, alarms and operational visibility.
  • AWS Backup and service-specific snapshots aligned to recovery objectives and retention requirements.

Ongoing AWS operations

Cloud services still need ownership. IP6net can monitor agreed components, respond to alerts, review backup results, support operating-system maintenance and help investigate availability or performance issues. Changes are recorded and assessed for their effect on security, cost and recovery arrangements.

The support scope is agreed for each environment. This makes clear which parts are managed by AWS, which are managed by IP6net and which remain with the customer or application supplier.
