Exponential-e

Exponential-e operates a UK business network delivering internet, Ethernet and wide-area connectivity. IP6net uses this relationship when a customer needs a managed circuit, private site-to-site connectivity or a route into cloud and data-centre services.

Connectivity design

A circuit should be selected against the applications it carries and the impact of failure. We review bandwidth, latency, upload requirements, public IP addressing, service demarcation, installation lead time and the available service level. Where resilience is required, we also consider whether a second circuit is physically and commercially independent from the primary route.

Available designs may include:

• Symmetrical business internet access for offices and hosted infrastructure.
• Point-to-point Ethernet between two locations.
• Private multi-site WAN services using Layer 2 or routed connectivity.
• Cloud Connect services for private access to supported cloud platforms.
• SD-WAN or managed-edge options for organisations combining multiple circuits and sites.
• DDoS, firewall or secure-access services where required and available.

The exact access method and product availability depend on the site and are confirmed during quotation.

Delivery and support

IP6net can gather the technical requirements, check availability, coordinate surveys and wayleaves, and manage the order through installation and testing. We also plan the LAN handoff, firewall configuration, IP addressing and cutover so that the new circuit can be introduced with a clear rollback route.

Once live, circuit monitoring can be combined with IP6net support. When a fault occurs, we can check customer equipment and local network conditions before escalating to the carrier, avoiding the common gap where each supplier assumes the problem belongs to another party.
