Google Cloud
Architecture, deployment and operational support for Google Cloud infrastructure.
Google Cloud provides compute, storage, databases, networking and operational tooling for hosted applications and infrastructure. It is particularly useful where workloads already use Google services, require managed data platforms or need to scale beyond a fixed server design.
IP6net helps customers decide where Google Cloud fits, establish a manageable foundation and support the deployed environment. We focus on the practical controls needed to operate a service: identity, network design, logging, backup and cost ownership.
Foundation and network design
A new project can be created in minutes, but project structure and permissions become harder to correct once services are live. We plan organisations, folders, projects, billing links and administrative roles according to the size of the environment.
Technical work can include:
- Virtual Private Cloud networks, subnets, firewall policies, routes and DNS.
- Cloud VPN connectivity to offices, data centres or other cloud platforms.
- Identity and Access Management roles designed around least privilege.
- Service accounts for applications and automation, with controlled key usage.
- Logging, monitoring and alerting for agreed workloads.
- Budgets, labels and billing reports to make cloud spend attributable.
Compute, storage and databases
We support Compute Engine virtual machines for workloads that need operating-system access, including sizing, disks, startup configuration and maintenance planning. Cloud Storage can be used for application objects, exports, logs and archive data, with access and lifecycle rules applied to the bucket rather than left to individual users.
For relational databases, Cloud SQL can reduce the operational work involved in backups, maintenance and availability. The database engine, region, capacity and recovery settings still need to match the application and its support requirements.
Migration and ongoing operations
Migration planning covers dependencies, data transfer, DNS, connectivity, testing and rollback. After go-live, IP6net can provide monitoring, incident support and controlled changes for the components included in the support agreement.
The boundary between Google-managed services and customer-managed applications is documented. A managed platform may operate the underlying infrastructure, but application configuration, data protection and access policy remain customer responsibilities unless explicitly included in the service scope.
