Google Workspace

Migration, administration and support for Google Workspace.

Google Workspace provides business email, calendars, meetings, shared files and browser-based productivity tools. Its simple user experience can hide important administrative decisions around account security, external sharing, data ownership and device access.

IP6net joined the Google partner programme in 2006. We help organisations migrate to Google Workspace, configure the Admin console and support users after the service goes live.

Migration to Google Workspace

We assess the existing mail and collaboration systems, confirm which data can be transferred and plan the DNS and user changes needed at cutover. Depending on the source platform, migration may cover email, calendars, contacts and files. A pilot group can be used to test the process before the wider move.

Migration work can include:

  • Domain verification and Gmail routing configuration.
  • User, group, alias and shared-address setup.
  • Transfer of supported data from Microsoft 365, Exchange, IMAP and other sources.
  • Planning for shared drives and the ownership of business files.
  • User communications and support during cutover.

Administration and security

IP6net can help configure multi-factor authentication, administrator roles, sharing policies and access controls in the Google Admin console. We also review how users collaborate outside the organisation and whether endpoint or browser management is appropriate for the devices in use.

Licence selection is based on required storage, security, retention and management features rather than application names alone. We can advise on available commitment and billing options at the point of order, as these vary by edition and contract.

Ongoing support

Support can cover account changes, Gmail delivery problems, group membership, calendar sharing, Google Drive permissions, desktop synchronisation and user access. Leaver procedures should include transferring files and calendars, removing active sessions and preserving data that the business still needs.
